Our Work
In Kenya, CEPCJ has established a presence in Nairobi, Kenya but has conducted work at county level. We have also participated in international platforms to advance human rights including representation at United Nations forums. None of our work would be possible without a protected civic space. CEPCJ therefore works at the intersection of environmental justice, corporate accountability, and civic space protection.
Our work bridges climate justice, responsible business conduct, and civic space protection. We promote rights-based climate action by holding businesses accountable for their environmental and human rights impacts and strengthening the capacity of civil society to engage in public decision-making. We believe that sustainable development is only possible where businesses respect human rights and civic freedoms are protected.
Capacity Building
CEPCJ is focused on capacity building of other CSOs, businesses and grassroot organizations in its programmatic areas.
We have extensive experience in capacity building at county level including in a current project titled the “Cultivating Justice: Enhancing Responsible Business Conduct in Kenya’s Agribusiness Sector” which we are implementing together with DanChurchAid Kenya and Pamoja Trust and funded by the European Union and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Denmark (Danida).
